Evan Goldman, chair of the firm’s Franchise and Hospitality group, is featured in an Inc. Magazine article titled “Major Delays in SBA-Backed Loans Are Slowing the Recovery” by reporter Diana Ransom, about the difficulty franchisees currently have in securing loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration. Despite the pandemic, demand for SBA programs meant to encourage lenders to underwrite loans is surging, but business owners are reporting signs of credit tightening. Goldman notes, “We’re seeing some deals that used to take four to six weeks now take four to six months. Banks and lenders generally–whether SBA or not–are just being very cautious lending right now.”
