Stephanie Blumstein Named a Top Franchising Attorney in The Franchise Times 2023 Legal Eagles List

A.Y. Strauss Franchise Group chair Stephanie Blumstein has been named a top franchising attorney in the Franchise Times 2023 Legal Eagles list. This annual ranking honors the best litigation and transactional attorneys who work with franchisors and franchisees in the United States.

Known for its in-depth coverage of every facet of franchising, the Franchise Times uses its Legal Eagles list to recognize lawyers who live and breathe franchising and understand the nuances of its unique business model. Honorees understand the backdrop of industry changes, economic uncertainty and heightened interest in franchising — along with the legal and business issues its participants face.

Blumstein, who has appeared on the Legal Eagles list in consecutive years, credits A.Y. Strauss’s collegial, entrepreneurial and collaborative culture for allowing her to develop tailored strategies for the franchisors and franchisees she represents.

“We’re a growing firm, and a growing practice group,” Blumstein said. “Being in an environment that welcomes different perspectives and ideas is important for ensuring lawyers have the tools and support to effectively represent their clients.”

Blumstein provides counsel to prospective franchisees, veteran franchise operators and franchisors on a wide range of issues both in and out of court. Her franchise litigation experience includes matters involving breach of contract, unfair and deceptive trade practices, trademark and trade name infringement, fraud claims and business competition torts.

As part of her practice, Blumstein advises clients through the franchise purchase process, including the review of franchise disclosure documents, the negotiation of franchise and area development agreements, lease negotiations, and sales and transfers. She also works with existing franchisees and franchisors to address issues that arise during the franchise relationship.
