Kelly Purcaro, Partner at A.Y. Strauss and Co-Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) Class Actions Special Committee, is speaking at the 2021 New Jersey State Bar Association Annual Meeting and Convention on May 19. Kelly is a panelist for the educational webinar “A Class Action Update: Federal and New Jersey Developments for 2020-2021.” Co-Sponsored by the Class Actions Committee, the panel of class action practitioners, including both plaintiff and defense specialists, will address hot topics in class action practice, including COVID-19 interruption of services and consumer class actions, privacy and data breach cases, and updates on the Telephone Communications Practices Act. Ramirez case before the U.S. Supreme Court; the New Jersey Appellate Division’s decision in Baskin v. P.C. Richard & Son, which is now pending before the New Jersey Supreme Court; the Eleventh Circuit’s landmark decision on incentive awards; and the Sixth Circuit’s decision on negotiation class.
