Three A.Y. Strauss Attorneys Named Super Lawyers 2019 Rising Stars

Brett Buterick, Stacey Valentine Fielding, and Aaron Messing are among only 2.5 percent of lawyers selected in New Jersey.

Each year, Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters – Legal service, rates attorneys across 70 practice areas who have been evaluated for their professional achievement. The process includes the collection of nominations from New Jersey-based attorneys, an independent evaluation of the nominees by the staff of Super Lawyers, and a peer evaluation known as the “Blue Ribbon Review. “Rising Star candidates are 40 years old or younger, or in practice for 10 years or less. No more than 2.5 percent of attorneys throughout the state are selected as Rising Stars.

Brett Buterick, counsel at A.Y. Strauss, has been selected for inclusion in the Business Litigation practice area. He is a member of the firm’s Franchise and Hospitality, and Litigation practice groups. He has experience working with technology startups and established businesses in complex litigation. Brett has represented his clients in state and federal court matters involving breach of contract, fraud, business competition, consumer protection, and trademark infringement. This is Brett’s first appearance on the Rising Stars list.
Stacey Valentine Fielding, partner at A.Y. Strauss, has been selected for inclusion in the Estate Planning & Probate, Estate & Trust Litigation, Elder Law, and Tax practice areas. She serves as chair of the firm’s Private Client Services practice group. Stacey is focused on all aspects of trusts and estates law, including income, estate, inheritance, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax issues. She also helps clients maximize the benefits of charitable giving. This is Stacey’s third appearance on the Rising Stars list.
Aaron Messing, partner at A.Y. Strauss, has been selected for inclusion in the Business/Corporate, Media and Advertising, Closely Held Business, Intellectual Property, and Technology Transactions practice areas. He is the founder of the firm’s Technology practice group. Aaron is focused on startups and emerging growth companies, which he advises on matters including legal, business, and strategic decisions throughout their growth and development. He also advises clients on corporate transactions, information privacy and date security, angel and venture financing, mergers and acquisitions, and protection of intellectual property. This is Aaron’s third consecutive appearance on the Rising Stars list.
