Barbara Melendez is a paralegal at A.Y. Strauss, where she provides support to the Family Law group. Barbara assists with document management and drafting, case preparation, complex discovery, conducting legal research and managing cases through all stages, from inception through litigation and trial preparation. She is known for her team-oriented, collaborative approach and attention to detail.

Prior to joining A.Y. Strauss, Barbara worked for a mid-size law firm specializing in family law for 10 years, where she served as the primary point of contact for clients and handled intake management among other office operations. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Legal Secretary for a boutique New Jersey law firm where she assisted on insurance defense and family law cases.  

Barbara earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from New Jersey City University and a Paralegal Certificate from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
