Cheri R. Ciano is counsel at A.Y. Strauss in the firm’s Commercial Real Estate Group. With over twenty years of experience, Cheri has developed a robust practice in all facets of real estate development, including negotiating and structuring complex transactions, leases, mergers and acquisitions. Her focus also extends to construction, commercial lending, and affordable housing projects.

Before joining A.Y. Strauss, Cheri spent several years in the commercial real estate group at a full-service New Jersey law firm. She has worked with several leading commercial real estate companies as in-house counsel throughout her career, negotiating high-stakes transactions, managing project development, and advising on business entity structures, joint ventures, procurement, and legal compliance for large-scale developments. Cheri also has experience in guiding management teams through complex legal challenges, including advising on insurance claims, employment matters, and corporate governance.
