A.Y. Strauss is pleased to announce its merger with Hackensack-based firm, Newman, Simpson & Cohen, LLP. This move strengthens our firm’s legal capabilities across New Jersey and New York, as A.Y. Strauss will add Newman, Simpson & Cohen’s Hackensack office to its Livingston and New York locations. Attorneys Daniel P. Simpson, Daniel J. Cohen, and Daniel C. Stark join A.Y. Strauss as part of the merger.
By joining A.Y. Strauss, the attorneys from Newman, Simpson & Cohen will be able to leverage the firm’s broader platform, particularly its labor and employment, corporate, transactional, commercial real estate, environmental, construction, and family law capabilities, enhancing the scope of services available to clients.

Simpson will serve as of counsel, leveraging his decades of experience advising public and private companies and their owners on general counsel, transactional, and litigation matters. Cohen, joining as a partner, will focus on complex commercial litigation, chancery litigation, lender liability, probate disputes, employment matters, and appellate advocacy, bringing over 35 years of experience in state and federal courts and mediations/arbitrations.
Stark will join as an associate, contributing extensive complex litigation experience in New Jersey and New York courts, as well as arbitration, mediation, and administrative proceedings.
