Daniel P. Simpson is of counsel in the Corporate Group at A.Y. Strauss. A seasoned litigator and trusted legal advisor, he has extensive experience guiding clients through complex legal and business matters. Dan represents a broad spectrum of publicly traded and privately held companies, as well as their owners, delivering services that range from outside general counsel to litigation and transactional representation.

Dan’s clients span a wide array of industries, including healthcare, banking, franchising, commercial real estate, and nonprofit organizations. He also advises trusts, estates, professional practices, corporate executives, and has represented attorneys, law firms, and members of the judiciary.

Dan counsels clients on strategic planning and critical business decisions, including succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, leasing, financing, licensing, employment matters, and corporate governance. He has handled transactions ranging from routine small business sales to highly complex deals requiring Hart-Scott-Rodino clearance. Dan has also structured and negotiated a wide range of leasing arrangements, including those involving multi-unit enterprises, and has represented commercial property owners and operators in numerous sales, financings, and acquisitions.

In addition to his transactional work, Dan maintains a strong litigation practice. He has served as lead counsel in complex, multi-party commercial and corporate disputes, including intra-owner conflicts, lender liability claims, and financial work-outs, including creditor representation in bankruptcy.
