A.Y. Strauss, a leading boutique law firm focused on commercial transactions and litigation in the areas of real estate, franchise law, construction contracting, and bankruptcy, is pleased to announce that Pomy Ketema has joined as Special Counsel. Pomy will support the transactional deal team through her continued focus on corporate M&A and tax matters.

Pomy has substantial experience with acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures in both domestic and foreign markets. She served as international legal counsel on projects involving expansions outside of the U.S. In that capacity, she helped clients navigate the regulatory environment in foreign jurisdictions and harmonize their operations to be in compliance with U.S. law. She has provided legal counsel on significant corporate and tax matters for global organizations with focus areas that include the petrochemical, manufacturing, agri-business, and fintech sectors.

Her prior roles include serving as Counsel at Baker & McKenzie, LLP, as Senior Counsel at Koch Industries, Inc., and as a Senior Associate at Dorsey & Whitney, LLP.
Pomy earned her J.D. with honors from the University of Minnesota Law School, her M.B.T. (Master of Business Taxation) from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, and her B.A. with honors from the University of St. Thomas.
